Carrie Ferrelli is a Scenic and Projection designer originally from Nashville, Tennessee, and recently received her MFA in Scene Design at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Recent credits include Airness, People Where They Are, The Real Inspector Hound (Clarence Brown Theater), The Unusual Tale of Mary and Joseph’s Baby (River and Rail), Feathers and Teeth (What If? Productions), and the production design for the independent short film, Manufactured Luck. She made her international debut last year in Dublin, Ireland with the premier of Cove Creek Boys and Summer Girls at the Scene and Heard festival. As an assistant, she has worked on productions in theaters across the country including Pure Theater, Olney Theatre Centre, Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey, and most recently with scenic designer Donyale Werle at New York City Center.

Chris Conard is an Austin-based scenic/lighting/projection designer for theatre, events and installations. He graduated from Santa Fe University of Art and Design with a B.F.A. in Technical Theater Design in 2014 and has designed for companies in Austin, Santa Fe, New York, DC, and Los Angeles. Chris recently worked as the scenic designer for an installation at Artechouse called: NHKS4220. He recently completed a M.F.A. in Design and Technology at The University of Texas at Austin. Conard continues to create original devised work with Frank Wo/Men Collective, a company he co-founded in Austin in 2016. He has also served as the technical director for Fusebox Festival. Conard is the recipient of the 2017 and 2018 Austin Critics Table Awards for Best Set Design, the 2017 B. Iden Payne Award for Outstanding Set Design and the 2019 B. Iden Payne Award for Outstanding Lighting Design.

Eli Sherlock (he/him) is a scenic designer based in Los Angeles, where he is completing his MFA this June in scenic and production design from UCLA's school of Theater, Film and Television. Prior to LA, he spent five years freelancing in Minneapolis, working with Theater Latté Da, Park Square Theatre, Artistry Theater, and Yellow Tree Theatre, among others.  

Always interested in shifting the space and subverting expectations, Eli loves approaching design with consideration for how to blur the distinction between the worlds of actor and spectator.  He is excited by new works and collaboration; and uses a balance of spectacle and simplicity to tell the story.

Eli has interned in the studio of Derek McLane, at The Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis, with Seven Devils Playwriting Conference, and Cirque du Soleil's KÁ in Las Vegas.  Eli holds a BFA in Theater Design and Production from The University of Michigan.

Fallon Williams is a Multidisciplinary Artist and Designer who works with space, light, projection, and technology for live performance, architecture and immersive environment, film, and visual art. Grounded in narrative-driven work, she builds unique atmospheres that are impactful and innovative. 

Fallon's recent credits include: Ubu Roi, featured in the Common Design Project exhibition at the 2019 Prague Quadrennial, Oedipus The King (Walt Disney Modular Theater), Outside In (dance film), and For All Time (music video). She is currently working on Rickerby Hinds' Black Box, about the life of slave Henry Box Brown, at the Center for New Performance. 

Fallon holds a BFA in Theatre Arts Administration from Howard University and a MFA in Scenic and Lighting Design from California Institute of the Arts.

Grisele Gonzalez is from Tijuana, Mexico. She studied Marine Biology at the University of California, San Diego, and now graduating at the Pennsylvania State University in Scenic Design. Grisele discovered her true passion for scenic design when she began an internship with La Jolla Playhouse under the supervision of Prop Master Debra Hatch. After her internship, she was hired by La Jolla Playhouse as a Prop Artisan and Scenic Painter working on regional productions and pre-Broadway shows such as Junk: The Golden Age of Debt directed by Doug Hughes and designed by Tony Award winner John Lee Beatty; Miss You Like Hell directed by Lear deBessonet and designed by Tony Award winner Donyale Werle; and Hollywood directed by Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley and designed by Wilson Chin. After graduation, Grisele plans to move to NYC to freelance in scenic design.

James F. Rotondo III (he/him) is a theatre artist and scene designer originally from Rhode Island.

“The idea of bringing spaces to life has always fascinated me. Painting lessons, dance classes, and stage performances from an early age all culminated in my interest in scene design. Combining my background in visual arts and performance, it is my goal to create dynamic and bold spaces that unlock storytelling possibilities. I am particularly interested in exploring conventional performance spaces in unconventional ways and bringing stories beyond the traditional in both location and expectation.”

Jordan Twaddle is an eager emerging artist, designer, and certified educator from middle Tennessee. In 2018, Jordan transitioned from education to working professionally in theatre. Clamoring after any production they could work on in Franklin, TN, Jordan took off to Seattle to pursue a Masters of Fine Arts in Drama Scenic Design at the University of Washington. They expect to graduate in June 2021.

Jordan's influences are eclectic and widely ranged, but their style is to be always both intentional and playful with story, character, vibrant colors, and scale. Jordan has a keen interest in theatre, philosophy, literature, music, queer issues, and spectacle.

Justine Law is an LA-based Production and Scenic Designer pursuing her MFA at UCLA. After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with her Bachelor’s Degree in both Fine Arts and Media Studies, as well as a minor in Theater, Justine spent a couple years working in freelance theater as a scenic designer and props artisan in the Bay Area. In that time she worked with theaters including Santa Cruz Shakespeare, Crowded Fire Theater, Theatreworks Silicon Valley, and Shotgun Players. After moving to Los Angeles, Justine has expanded into film design, acting as art director on several short films and production designer on a music video. She hopes to continue to pursue her career in both film and theater upon graduating this June.

Katherine Stepanek is a scenic and lighting designer, graduating from the University of Tennessee. She got her bachelor’s degrees from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University in 2012, with a double major in Theatrical Lighting and Scenic Design. She has worked professionally throughout the country, including two seasons with Shawnee Theatre as both the resident lighting and scenic designer, four years as an assistant scenic designer for Dunsi Dai in St. Louis, and as an assistant lighting designer at the Repertory Theatre in St. Louis. Currently, she works as a scenic and projection designer at the Clarence Brown Theatre, a LORT Theatre in Knoxville, TN, and as a freelance designer.

 She has also worked outside of traditional theatre, designing a book store, an art gallery, a restaurant, a concert venue, and a bar. Additionally, she has worked with the art departments for Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Lee O Barker is a Scenic Designer and Theatre Artist from Houston, Texas. Lee received his MFA from the UMKC Conservatory (’21) and his Bachelor’s in Theatre Arts from Texas A&M University (’13). Before graduate school, Lee spent a year working for Princess Cruises, specializing in Scenic Installation, Automation, and touring foreign cities in a matter of hours. Returning ashore to Houston, Lee started working at the Alley Theatre as Stage Crew, then elevated to staff Scenic Carpenter. Meanwhile, Lee designed sets around Houston for Equity and experimental companies, including: the Ensemble Theatre, Queensbury Theatre, and Mildred’s Umbrella Theater Co. At the UMKC Conservatory, Lee honed artistic skills and further defined his design process and aesthetic. He is interested in all manners of immersive design, including: installations, exhibits, interiors, and game design. Next, he is excited to continue evolving as an artist, searching for collaborators, and creating meaningful audience experiences.

Taking story-telling as a point of departure, designing for the theater has become a place of convergence for the previous work I have made using art, architecture, installation, and performance. The collaborative approach to theatre has allowed me to grow as an artist and designer, absorbing inspiration from fellow designers, directors, and actors. My background is in architecture and the visual arts. I have a professional architecture degree from Cornell University and have also studied printmaking, photography, and painting in Paris, Rome, and Hamburg. Theater-making is where I can use my accumulated knowledge in a meaningful way and yet keep on learning in the process.

Meg McGuigan is a designer specializing in stage and space. Originally from Seattle, she is now based in New York City. Her work includes design for theatre, events, and window displays. She has worked as a freelance artist for companies such as B Street Theatre, Spaeth Design, Squeaky Bicycle Productions, Randomly Specific Theatre, and Stagedoor Manor before pursuing her MFA in Scene Design at Boston University. Her joy in exploration brought her to this medium, and remains the reason she continues to pursue it. This work allows her to experience as much variety as possible, both in her own life as she traverses this career, and in the lives shared in stories she designs. She wants her work to reflect her own insatiable curiosity.

Ming-Chieh Wu is an international scenic and production designer for film, live performance, exhibition, and animation.

Ming-Chieh’s recent work includes: Dada Divas (REDCAT Disney Hall, Los Angeles), Love Lies Bleeding (CalArts Film and Video), Ayuan (CalArts Experimental Animation), and Artaud in the Lodge (Center of New Performance- postponed). She was a fabrication team intern in stop motion animation studio, Open the Portal (Los Angeles, Fall 2020). Ming-Chieh also worked as an assistant designer in TRY FUN Design Studio (Taipei, 2016-2018).

Ming-Chieh holds an MFA in Scenic Design from California Institute of the Arts and a B.A. in National Taiwan University, Department of Drama and Theatre.

Miranda Friel is a set designer, scenic artist, and freelance illustrator based in San Diego, CA. She holds an MFA in scenic design from UC San Diego and a BA in performance studies from Brown University. Miranda believes in a design practice rooted in storytelling. Her favorite story-worlds often exist in a realm beyond realism. Miranda’s extensive experience with scenic painting—she most recently worked as a scenic artist at the Old Globe—informs her design practice through an attention and appreciation for texture and materiality.

This past year of COVID-necessitated Zoom Theatre has deepened her interest in production design, as it has spurred her exploration into the world of designing for the camera and video editing. She hopes to pursue design opportunities in both theatre and film.

Professional assisting credits include Loch Ness (asst. Paul Tate DePoo III) at Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival and a couple upcoming Robert Brill projects.

Myokyung Shon is an international scenic, production, and multimedia designer for theatre, film, live performance, entertainment, and exhibition. 

Her work on theatrical scenic design includes LAURA (Santa Monica Playhouse, LA) and Machinal (E400, CalArts Theater). Her work on film production includes Marigloria Palma (short film, LA and Puerto Rico), Thrall (short film, LA), and Jurassic Punk (short film, LA). In addition, she has worked for the commercial advertisement firm, Production Avenue Ltd, in Hong Kong (2016–2018). 

Myokyung holds an MFA in Scene Design from CalArts and a BFA in Creative Media from the City University of Hong Kong.

Nicholas Ponting is a scenic designer, performer and creator based out of San Diego, California. From Washington State, he received his BA in Theatre (scenic) and Music (voice) from Western Washington University. After undergraduate studies, Nicholas performed and designed around Seattle, and San Antonio before pursuing his M.F.A in scenic design at The University of California San Diego. As both a performer and designer, he lets the two areas of experience inform each other when creating. While at UCSD, he also continued work as a stained glass artist, completing some of his late mother’s projects for her. 

Nick is a multidisciplinary artist and will continue to pursue all opportunities available to him. Upon graduation, he has been commissioned for a painting, will oversee the installation of a stained glass window for a church in WA, remote graphic design work, and a few scenic design projects in the coming year.

Ryan Douglass is a scenic designer, director, and storyteller. He recently graduated with his MFA in Scenic Design from The Pennsylvania State University. He received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music and Theatre from The Florida State University in 2009. Previously he was a high school theatre teacher at University High School in Orlando FL for seven years and a performer at Walt Disney World for eight years. For the summer of 2021, he will be the scenic design intern for The MUNY’s 103rd season. Ryan has a passion for musical theatre and themed entertainment. Sarah Reed is a production designer for theater, film, and virtual reality. She earned her BFA in Design and Technology from Western Michigan University(‘18), and her MFA in Scenic Design from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory(‘21). Sarah has worked as an associate scenic designer with the KC Rep, an assistant scenic designer for Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, and a scenic artist for theme parks like Disney and Universal Studios. Sarah has put years of study into the art of creating immersive worlds with traditional and digital media. During her studies at UMKC, She has been working with 3D modeling and rendering, and exploring new ways to incorporate her style with color and texture in a digital form. Selena Gonzalez-Lopez is originally from Pueblo, Colorado and is a recent graduate from The University of Missouri-Kansas City where she received her M.F.A in Scenic, Lighting and Projection Design. Selena is an interdisciplinary artist for theatre, film, and dance and enjoys the opportunities that each one presents. 

Throughout her time in Kansas City, Selena has been able to work professionally at The Coterie Theatre, Kansas City Actors Theatre, Unicorn Theatre, Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, and the Kansas City Repertory Theatre. 

Her recent work includes, Dance at the Conservatory (L.D, UMKC Conservatory), 12th Night (L.D and Video Editor, UMKC Conservatory), Capstone Dance, Spring and Fall 2020-2021 (L.D, UMKC Conservatory), Brainstorm (L.D and Video Editor, The Coterie Theatre), Night Mother (A.L.D, Kansas City Actors Theatre). Her goal is to continue working professionally as a freelance designer or associate for both theatre and film.

Sirun Bakrajian is an interior architect and scenographer, born and raised in Beirut.

Sirun reimagines and details ordinary and performative objects and spaces, covering from small to larger scale projects.

Her recent produced collaborations include ‘King Lear’ at the Walt Disney modular theater, ‘Mr. Crow’; multimedia new work at the Son of Semele theater, ‘Artificial Intelligence’; virtual reality performance at the CalArts Expo. Other collaborations postponed due to COVID include ‘The Penrose project’; multimedia new work at the Edinburgh international festival, and ‘Inner creatures’; music concert at The Herb Alpert school of Music.

For three years in Beirut, she was part of MARIAGROUP Architects & Designers’ team as a junior interior architect. She designed two scenes from Beiteddine Festival, a live visual narrative based on Kafka’s ‘Metamorphosis’.

Sirun received her BA in interior architecture from l’Academie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts and her MFA in scenic design from California Institute of the Arts.

Tzu-Hsiang is an international scenographer and multimedia artist who focuses on the relationship between space, story, and performance. Her work in theater, film, and immersive experiences explores the boundaries between the physical and digital. Through the visual details of her work she hopes to convey a resonance for others: a sense of togetherness.
